Church ministries
The people of Gateway Christian Fellowship served the Lord, each other, and their community in many different ways.
Here are some of them:
Elders
The elders of the fellowship were Neil Evans, Rid Harrison, Ross Davison, Garry Gould, Ross Callaghan and Bernie Townsend.
Be shepherd's of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers - not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be. 1 Peter 5:2
Prayer ministry
Betty Burtt coordinated the prayer chain.
We regularly prayed for Israel, New Zealand and the Philippines, and gave opportunities for prayer ministry through our prayer teams and through the prayer chain. Those particularly involved in the prayer ministry were Betty Burtt, Ann Arnold, Sue Gould, Kathy Callaghan, Karen Gazley, Ingrid Evans, Olwyn Davison Ross Davison and Dorothy Brough
Worship team
We had great worship teams that lead us in worship each week. The main members of the worship team were Karen McCall, Lowell Agraba, Grant Lodge, David Atkinson, Rene and Esme Schlotjes, and Rhys Cocker.
Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Psalm 100:2
Trustees.
Neil Evans, Don Trevethick, Garry Gould and later, Ross Callaghan and Bernie Townsend, were trustees of the Gateway Christian Fellowship Trust Board.
Banners
Anne Trevethick made some beautiful banners to decorate the church. They reflect some of the different prophecies received over the years.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. Psalm 8:1
Teaching and training
Ross Callaghan taught on a range of topics within Gateway and in other Churches.
Ross also runs a series of ministry training workshops equipping the saints for the work of ministry. Ephesians 4:12

Prophetic ministry
Bernie Townsend was recognised as a prophet, and regularly brought words from the Lord to us. Richard Nicoll also brought a number of significant prophetic messages.
Let the prophets speak. 1 Corinthians 14:29.

Communion
Ian coordinated our regular communion services.
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup you proclaim the Lord's
death, till He comes. 1 Corinthians 11:26
Kitchen teams
Beryl Tuppen and Marie Sang looked after the kitchen, but we all pitched in so we could have great times of fellowship.
Projection team.
Anne Trevethick, Jenny Agraba, and Marie Sang ran the equipment.
It was all kept running by Graham McCall.
Support for God's Light Ministries, and later, Blessed by the Lord Church, in the Philippines.
Gateway had a special relationship with God's Light Ministries/Blessed by the Lord Church, as Lowell Agraba originally came from that church. We took up special collections for our friends in the Philippines and were thrilled to hear how our giving resulted in so much blessing. Our gifts were used for food parcels, in the prison ministry, buying Bibles for giving away, and to support development of the church and its leaders.
Sponsored child
Members of Gateway sponsor Keylin Selina Rodriguez, from Panama. Please pray for her!
Sevenoaks team
Thirteen members of Gateway were volunteers at Sevenoaks hospital. This ministry began in the latter part of 2009.
We took people for walks, helped with crafts, chatted and prayed with residents, lead Church services, ran sing-songs, and sought to help in whatever ways we could. Glenda, from Sevenoaks, was thrilled with the contribution that the Gateway team made. Many of the people there were really sick and she said we made a real difference by bringing comfort, interest and joy from 'outside' of the hospital. The Sevenoaks team was coordinated by Karen Gazley. The Sevenoaks team in 2010: Sue Gould, Beryl Tuppen, Kathy Callaghan, Lynne Curwen, Glenda, Paul Curwen, Ian Burtt, Brian Simmonds, Chris Charlesworth, Anne Trevethick, Karen Gazley, Ross Callaghan, and Mary Constable (front). Absent was Betty Burtt.
Trustbank in the Philippines
In April 2010 Gateway Christian Fellowship sponsored a new Trustbank in the Philippines. The money in the Trustbank was used to provide low interest loans so poor people could establish businesses which would help them build a new life for themselves and their families. The Trustbank started up about 25 new businesses which became self sustaining as the loans were repaid. Training, support and careful oversight helped all of the businesses in their development.
Members of our Trustbank
Sam Bayly and Gospel Inc.
New Generation. We provided financial support, prayed, and encouraged Sam and his ministry, and regularly had Sam come to provide feedback and preach for us.
Soirees and singalongs
Ross and Kathy Callaghan and the Gateway Singers regularly provided soirees and singalongs for local rest homes, hospitals, and senior citizens. We had lots of fun!
